Rocket League: Unreal Engine 6 – Tested by the Pros

Promo for Rocket League’s six-part dev diary series, shot in Paris with 12 pro players and produced remotely from the US for Hayden5 and Epic Games.

Business Challenge: Hayden5 brought us in to film the promo for a six-part Rocket League dev diary series, part of a broader 360 campaign for Epic Games. This was a scripted trailer, not event coverage: voiceover, a narrative arc and a cliffhanger ending, built around the first-ever 3v3 match on the new version of the game. The brief was to make it feel like more than a standard dev diary by shooting stylish new coverage that would cut seamlessly with footage already filmed in the US.

Value Delivered: Managing from the US, we assembled and prepped a 10-person crew in Paris and turned Epic’s offices into four sets across two floors, with branded table dressing and team-colored lighting. In a single 10-hour day we covered gameplay, round tables and individual interviews with 12 pro players from Team Vitality, Karmine Corp, Shopify Rebellion and Gentle Mates, plus Epic’s developers, including a 15-minute changeover between the morning and afternoon groups. A bilingual field producer bridged the American client and the French crew on set, and we handed over 4K masters and synced ProRes proxies at wrap so the edit could start in the US right away.

Crew: Lead Project Manager, Field Producer, DP, 2 Camera Operators, 1st Assistant Camera, DIT, 2 Production Sound Mixers, Gaffer, Production Coordinator.
